I’ve been pondering about this word for a while now. I know there are theoretical definitions, but it’s the reality of it that I’m trying to wrap my head around.
What does it mean to be in a community?
Are you still in a community of you don’t actively engage with the community?
Do you inherit a community (based on certain characteristics) or do you choose it (based on your values/beliefs)? Should one take precedence over the other?
Can you be a part of multiple communities? or do you have to choose which matters most to you?
If a community is a place of belonging, then can you fully be yourself in any single community?
If you happen to be in a community because of a shared circumstance, what happens when/if that circumstance changes?
